Frank Dodson’s store

I took a very nostalgic trip back to a place in middle Tennessee , where my family used to go when I was a boy of 7 or 8 or so. My great Uncle Ben and Aunt Adell lived there on a creek where my brother and I used to swim and catch snakes and just have a good time all day long. There were a couple of old stores on either side of the creek called Lieper’s creek. This is one of the stores on the other side of the creek from uncle Ben’s house. It was Frank Dodson’s store. On the other side of the creek was Everett Dodson’s store, no relation , except by marriage. They were brothers-in-law. Weird , that’s something I would have never known as a child. The bridge in the center is a new bridge that wasn’t there when i used to go. The old one was a lot better looking. It was a one lane red metal suspension bridge with boards across for where the tires rolled. My wife and I had a great time and learned a lot about the area and my great uncles and cousins who probably moved to Columbia, tn. more later.
