The Sun & Ski Tour

My wife and I just got back from another great trip. This time we flew from Houston to Phoenix to visit my nephew and his family and then four days later we flew to Reno to go skiing at Heavenly on Lake Tahoe. What a fantastic time we had. In Phoenix we were loaned a car, a VW convertible by a good friend. We took out across the desert to a pretty lake called Lake Pleasant. It was pleasant. We went on a hike with my nephew and Great niece and nephew one day out in the desert where the giant saguaro stay. Man, some of them are really big and 100′s of years old. We had a great time there with family, needless to say.
The next leg of the trip was for skiing. I skied for two beautiful days. The first day I fell a lot, but by the second day, I had my skills back. I won’t wait so long, hopefully to go back skiing next time. I’m going to try and go once a year from now on. Lake Tahoe was amazingly beautiful from up on the mountain. There were some great panoramic views of just about the whole lake and the surrounding mountains from up on top of heavenly. The skiing was challenging. The mountain was all black and blue runs. I did blues all the time. There were a couple of short greens, but not enough. The blues were wide but steep a lot of the time. Anyway, I’ll post some pictures later. The flights were good and it’s kindof good to be back home.
