The Right

During all the talk about Iran and Korea, especially Korea right now, continuing their nuclear programs, I always have the same thought and opinion underlying all of the discussion. Korea said it today. “As a soverign nation, we have the right to have and continue our nuclear program as we see fit.” I agree with them. What gives the USA the right to have bombs and missles while at the same time condemning other nations that do the same. The USSR, India, Pakistan, Israel and some others have the capability. I do realize how dangerous it is for North Korea to have the capability of lobbing a nuclear bomb into our country on a whim or for Iran or Iraq to be able to do the same. It definitely makes the world a less stable place, but it’s all about the strongest nation having the right to police the rest of the world. Is that right or is it just the way it is by default. I admit, i’m the last person who would want to see the world come to a painful end by nuclear holocaust and the mad max world that would follow, but really , don’t those so called rogue nations have just as much right to have the bomb as we do?
