I’ve always thought that HOV lanes that are physically separated made a lot more sense. If they aren’t separated people just start using them as an extra “fast” lane and this article is saying that a lot more accidents happen because of it. I admit that in Houston it is hard to find the entrances to the HOV lanes often, but when you do it really works well and you usually zip right along waving at the heavy traffic in the regular lanes as you go by. It’s pretty easy to get on Google maps and find the entrances to the HOV’s and how to get on them.

I just kindof discovered thenewspaper.com recently and have enjoyed reading the articles in it. I would , I guess, since I like to drive so fast.

I find myself longing for the beach and the warmth of it. I’m getting back to normal after the surgery. It’s been almost a month now and i still have a lump in my throat. I suppose that will eventually go away as well as the pain in my hip. Either one i can live with though. Mom is better. She is in the kitchen cooking chicken and rice, yum. My wife has gone up to Dallas with some of her friends from church. I know they are having a good time. About 10 of them went up in the church van to celebrate one of their birthdays. Shop till you drop i imagine. they are staying in a mansion which belongs to a sister of one of the women. Great hot tub they are going to take advantage of tonight, I hear.

today is going pretty well. I’ve been talking to my brother quite a bit on the phone lately. That’s been good. My mom is getting better daily and i believe my wife took her to the doctor today to get her established with a doctor down here and to have some blood work done to see how she is really doing with her sodium etc. I know my wife is glad to be off today. after i have been here at the fire station for a couple of days i am ready to escape and was thinking how i would just like to take off for a long drive somewhere in my great car, a likeness of which you will find above. a pretty good rain moved through here this morning , not long after i got up. it’s nice to have the internet back up here. One thing i have to do though, is enter all those calls into the firehouse program that i haven’t been able to enter for about a month, now. each one takes about 10 minutes. Christmas is close. Merry Christmas to all who read this.
