Cops, you can’t live with them, you can’t live without them? hmm. Cops are fresh on my mind lately. I got a speeding ticket for going 70 in a 50 on a road where the speed limit should be at least 65 mph. near La Porte Texas, two nights ago. Ok, I have a new vette which naturally needs to be aired out every now and then. That’s why they build them , right? No body else on the road, dry conditions, anyway. I ran across this article today. Those damn yankee cops in Dallas. Anything above Conroe is yankee land. I’m glad that Powell lost his job over his treatment of Moats.

Somewhat Disturbing

I’ve run across a couple articles this morning of some interest, I think. Here is one and here is the other. Pretty bizzare that a hit and run driver would leave a note of apology. And Pollution is always a worry in this area. I’m just surprised that there are no schools in La Porte on the list to be checked.

Triathelon

I had a great night last night at the fire station. I went to bed at 10 pm and got up at 8 this morning with narry a peep from the radio. THAT’S what i’m talkin bout. This morning there is a big triathelon in my town. They are doing the swim at Sylvan Beach in the bay then the bike ride who knows where. I think it ends up at the monument where they are doing the reenactment today. Don’t know where the run goes. Many of the guys on the fire dept. are manning trucks for all of this in case somebody needs an emt etc. I would like to see the reenactment of the battle of San Jacinto one of these days. I’ve been here a long time and have never seen it.
